Frequently Asked Questions

If you are an M&S retail colleague and you undertake any of the following roles within an M&S Retail store, then you should request a user account on Simple Compliance directly from within the system.

  1. Store Team Manager/Duty Manager
  2. Store Manager
  3. Store Ops
  4. Store FHSO
  5. Store Team Support Manager (TSM)
  6. Store First Aider (Does not include Opening & Closing book).

How to request access:

  1. Login to your M&S store computer.
  2. Please go to the “Store Application Launcher” and select any of the Simple Compliance options (for example “Asbestos Online Register”).
  3. If you do not have access to the “Store application Launcher” then please follow the link below:

You will be asked to request the access you need, to do this:

  1. Click the blue “Request Additional Access” button.
  2. Complete the questions on the online form and click “Submit”
  3. Your account request will be sent to the M&S Approvals Team.
  4. You will be notified by email when the approval is completed.

Please note that we have no control over the approvals process, as this is carried out by M&S, therefore please wait for your M&S colleagues to respond.

If you are an M&S retail colleague and you wish to access Simple Compliance via an iPad, tablet or personal laptop then follow the instructions below.

The Single Sign-On to the M&S network works on an iPad, tablet or personal laptop, however you will need to login to the M&S Azure Directory with your M&S account details, before you enter Simple Compliance.

Either of the two links below should work from your external device:

When you click them you will be given the option to login to the M&S Azure network (this is the image with the escalator). You can then access Simple Compliance from within that browser.

All companies working on an M&S site are required by Marks and Spencer to be registered on Simple Compliance independently.

Please email us at support@simplecompliance.co.uk if you wish to register your company.

We will need to know:

  1. Your company name
  2. The name and email address of your training administrator
  3. The name and email address of your primary contact (if different from the training administrator).
  4. Also please let us know if you are a City FM subcontractor.

Your login details will be sent separately in due course, and we will also send:

  1. Email with further instructions on how to register your staff for the M&S Asbestos Awareness Training.
  2. Email with instructions on how to apply for access to M&S additional Modules on individual accounts e.g. Projects Module, Audits & Assessments etc.

Your initial access will include access to the following:

  1. Training Monitor Module (to allow you to manage your staff training)
  2. Asbestos Register

Please note:

  1. The Asbestos Awareness training is provided by Environmental Essentials.
  2. The Asbestos Awareness training is mandatory, is free of charge and can be taken from the first registration of a new account.
  3. Each person will not receive a certificate for this as M&S don't require one. The qualification is updated onto the Training Profile online and can be accessed from there with no need for a certificate.
  4. The asbestos awareness training must be renewed each year.


If you feel that your company should be exempt from Asbestos Awareness training, e,g you supply equipment only, you provide cleaning services, delivery etc, please request the exemption process from us.

If you are a contractor who works on M&S sites, then you need to undertake the M&S asbestos awareness training course.

If you are a contractor who works on M&S properties and you have completed the M&S asbestos awareness training you will be allowed to access the online M&S Asbestos Registers from within Simple Compliance.


However you need to request this access by emailing: support@simplecompliance.co.uk.

Before emailing please make sure that:

  1. You are registered to a Company and not as an individual.
  2. Your account uses a company email address.
  3. You have completed both parts of the training.


If the above three points are not met, please send us this information with your request. For example let us know the name of the company you work for.


If you do not have a company email address we can still approach M&S on your behalf, however your account MUST be under a registered company.


Please note that you will still be allowed onsite if you have passed the training.

M&S retail colleagues

If you are an M&S retail colleague working within an M&S retail store then you do NOT need to reset your password.

Your account is linked to your existing M&S network login, and you just need to login using the single sign on link below:

Contractors and other M&S colleagues

For people who work for contractors or other M&S users not based in a retail store, you can reset your password by clicking the link below:

Locked accounts

If you have locked your account, by trying too many incorrect passwords, please email support@simplecompliance.co.uk and we will unlock your account.

If your access is incorrect, for example your role is incorrect or you are linked to the wrong store, you will need to ‘Request Additional Access’ from the within the system.

How to request additional access

Please select the following:

  • My Profile (from the top taskbar)
  • My access and permissions (from the left menu)
  • Request additional access (from the left menu)
  • Choose the role you undertake.
  • Choose the store/property you wish to access.
  • Enter any comments or additional information to assist with your request again.
  • This will then be sent to the M&S Approvals Team.


Please note that we have no control over the approvals process, as this is carried out by M&S, therefore please wait for your M&S colleagues to respond.
